Nel 2006, nel Regno del Bhutan è arrivata la modernizzazione: il Bhutan è stato l'ultimo Paese al mondo ad avere accesso alla televisione e a Internet. Ma il cambiamento più grande deve ancora arrivare: l'introduzione della democrazia. - Dopo il suo debutto nel lungometraggio, candidato all'Oscar, «Lunana», Pawo Choyning Dorji realizza una satira politica di grande spessore con sorprendenti colpi di scena in «The Monk and the Gun».
